How to Import Contacts or Email Subscribers and Map Your Fields

SPECIAL NOTE: Before you import any .CSV file, please note that ShinePages' system has a "name" field - which is for full name (first AND last name). You would need to merge your first and last name fields within your file prior to importing. Please see instructions at the bottom of this article ⬇️

There are 2 ways to import your contacts into your CRM: AS CONTACTS OR AS MARKETING SUBSCRIBERS
*Note:
-ANYONE may be a "Contact" and you have UNLIMITED Contacts on your account.
-"Marketing Subscribers" on the other hand are "Contacts" who are also on an email list within ShinePages and who have given you their permission to receive marketing emails from you.
-Marketing Subscribers can receive emails from you and can also be included in ANY Automations you may set up.
-You get a certain number of free Marketing Subscribers based on your ShinePages plan and you can purchase additional Marketing Subscribers as your numbers grow.

HOW TO IMPORT YOUR CONTACT LIST AS "MARKETING SUBSCRIBERS":
1S) Once you have your .csv file ready to import, go to Emails & Automations (in black bar at the top of the page) and then click on "Lists & Subscribers". Click the dropdown arrow in the "More" button to select "Import". This will allows you to import users via .CSV file format and map the fields to the properties in the CRM.

In the pop up menu - select a list by clicking on the dropdown OR create a list you would like to import to before you start the import process.

1C) HOW TO IMPORT YOUR CONTACT LIST AS "CONTACTS":
Once you have your .csv file ready to import, go to Contacts (in black bar at the top of the page). Click the dropdown arrow in the "More" button to select "Import". This will allows you to import users via .CSV file format and map the fields to the properties in the CRM.

2) "Tick" to agree with terms (please read carefully as this can affect your email sending score moving forward). Click on the button "IMPORT NOW".

3) Match the columns from your file to the contact properties in your CRM. Please go through these carefully and tick to match the information you would like to Map.

4) You will receive an email confirming that your contacts are imported and you're good to go!

Instructions for Using "the AI tool / platform that you use" to Clean and Split a Contact List
Please follow the steps below to use your AI platform to process your CSV contact file:
1. Upload your CSV file which includes these columns:
- First Name
- Last Name
2. Once the file is uploaded, copy and paste the following instruction into your AI platform:
Hi, I have a CSV file with three columns: `Email Address`, `First Name`, and `Last Name`.
Please:
2. Keep the email address in a second column titled “Email Address”.
3. Return a spreadsheet with only those two columns: Column A = Full Name, Column B = Email Address.
4. Then, please split the file in half:
- List 1: First number entries.
- List 2: The remaining entries.
5. Export all 3 spreadsheets:
- Merged full list
- List 1
- List 2

- The cleaned and merged full contact list
- The first half (List 1)
- The second half (List 2)
