How to Import Contacts or Email Subscribers and Map Your Fields

SPECIAL NOTE: Before you import any .CSV file, please note that ShinePages' system has a "name" field - which is for full name (first AND last name). You would need to merge your first and last name fields within your file prior to importing. Please see instructions at the bottom of this article ⬇️

There are 2 ways to import your contacts into your CRM: AS CONTACTS OR AS MARKETING SUBSCRIBERS
*Note:
-ANYONE may be a "Contact" and you have UNLIMITED Contacts on your account.
-"Marketing Subscribers" on the other hand are "Contacts" who are also on an email list within ShinePages and who have given you their permission to receive marketing emails from you.
-Marketing Subscribers can receive emails from you and can also be included in ANY Automations you may set up.
-You get a certain number of free Marketing Subscribers based on your ShinePages plan and you can purchase additional Marketing Subscribers as your numbers grow.

HOW TO IMPORT YOUR CONTACT LIST AS "MARKETING SUBSCRIBERS":
1S) Once you have your .csv file ready to import, go to Emails & Automations (in black bar at the top of the page) and then click on "Lists & Subscribers". Click the dropdown arrow in the "More" button to select "Import". This will allows you to import users via .CSV file format and map the fields to the properties in the CRM.
In the pop up menu - select a list by clicking on the dropdown OR create a list you would like to import to before you start the import process.
1C) HOW TO IMPORT YOUR CONTACT LIST AS "CONTACTS":
Once you have your .csv file ready to import, go to Contacts (in black bar at the top of the page). Click the dropdown arrow in the "More" button to select "Import". This will allows you to import users via .CSV file format and map the fields to the properties in the CRM.
2) "Tick" to agree with terms (please read carefully as this can affect your email sending score moving forward). Click on the button "IMPORT NOW".
3) Match the columns from your file to the contact properties in your CRM. Please go through these carefully and tick to match the information you would like to Map.
4) You will receive an email confirming that your contacts are imported and you're good to go!
REQUIRED FIELDS to import to ShinePages are Point 1. and 2. below: Please follow the prompts below to use your AI platform to process your CSV contact file:

Required steps for every file to import:
1. Create the first column, called “Full Name”
- Merge First Name and Last Name with a single space between them
- If either name is missing, use the name available
- If the file already has a Full Name column, keep it
2. Keep the email address in the second column, called “Email Address”
For example:
- Keep Phone Number in the third column
- Keep the address fields after that, as separate columns in their original order
- Keep existing tags in a column called “TAG”
- Keep the date column after TAG, as the final column

Please preserve all contacts in their original order. Keep phone numbers, international prefixes, postal codes, leading zeros, and date formats exactly as supplied. Do not remove duplicates or invent missing information.

NOTE: If your list contains more than 100 contacts, we recommend dividing it into smaller lists of fewer than 100 contacts each. Send your first email campaigns to one list at a time, allowing at least 24 hours between each send, so you can monitor delivery, bounces, and engagement before sending to the next group. This gradual approach helps you identify potential issues early and supports your sender reputation.
