A Menu Widget is used to navigate visitors around your Website, Funnel, Course etc. and is typically seen at the top of a Website in the Header as navigation (ie: the "Tabs" across the top of your site).

However a Menu Widget can be placed ANYWHERE on ANY Website Page or Funnel Step, within your Header OR within your Footer (Headers and Footers are available across every page of your site).

The Menu Widget is unique in that it is BOTH a "Header Widget" (one of a select list of widgets available for use within your Header - shown on every page of your site) as well as a "Page Widget".

Header Widget Options > Menu Widget

Page Widget Options > Menu Widget

NOTE: A MENU IS SIMPLY A COLLECTION OF LINKS THAT YOU CHOOSE TO DISPLAY.  :)

Thus:

DELETING a Menu Item or "Tab" (a link) from your Menu Widget does NOT DELETE the actual PAGE of your Website. It simply deletes the LINK to that page or step.

&

ADDING a Menu Item or "Tab" (a link) from your Menu Widget does NOT CREATE a PAGE of your website. It will simply create a link to an existing page, step or destination of your choice.

EDITING / CREATING / ADDING TO A MENU

Hover over the Header Menu Widget OR click on the Page Menu Widget to reveal the Menu Widget's Toolbar and the "Edit Menu" button

EDIT MENU WINDOW - FUNCTIONALITY HOW-TO'S:

HOW TO ADD NEW MENU ITEMS (links)

  • Click the pink "+ Add Menu Item" button from the Edit Menu Widget
  • This will open the Select a Link Window
  • From the Left hand side of the Select a Link window - Select your Link "category":

  • Then - based on what you choose on the left hand side - you will have options to select from or fill out on the right hand side.
  • Once options have been set - click "Select" to Add the Link/"Menu Item" to your Menu.

SEE THIS LINKING 101 TUTORIAL FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION & INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO USE THE SELECT A LINK WINDOW:

(Again - remember that Menus are simply a collection of links that you choose to display. Therefore, "Menu Items" are simply links!  When you Add a Menu Item - you are simply Selecting a Link. 😊)

HOW TO DELETE MENU ITEMS:

Simply click on the Trash Can icon located on the right hand side of the listed Menu Items to delete the Item/Link.

As noted - this will NOT actually delete the Website page, Funnel step, etc. from your site - it will simply delete the LINK to that destination from within the Menu Widget.

HOW TO CHANGE THE DISPLAY NAME OF A MENU ITEM

(How the name of the link is displayed within the Menu)

From within the Edit Menu Window - simply click on the name of the Menu Item from the List and start typing to change the way that Menu Item/Link is displayed within the Menu Widget.

(note - the default name will be the name of the Page or Step as set within Page Settings.  You can change the Display Name to anything you would like. )

HOW TO REARRANGE OR RE-ORDER MENU ITEMS:

To change the order in which Menu Items (ie: Links) appear within the Menu Widget - you can simply click on the 6 dots icon on the left hand side of the Menu Item within the Edit Menu Window to select and then DRAG it up or down within the list - to place it where you'd like.

HOW TO CHANGE WHERE MENU ITEMS ARE LINKING:

If your Menu Item isn't directing visitors to the correct page or destination - you can update the Menu Item (ie: Link) by clicking on the Pencil icon to the right of your Menu Items.

This will open up the "Select a Link" Window - where you'll be able to re-select the link destination.  See "How To Add Menu Item" above - or see THIS TUTORIAL on Linking with the Select a Link Window.

HOW TO CREATE SUB-MENUS OR "DROP DOWN LIST" MENUS

To create a "Drop-Down" menu or sub-menu under another Menu Item - First "Add Menu Items" to the destinations you'd like to add as a "sub-menu item".

Then simply drag the Menu Item(s) under another Menu Item and "bump" it to the right.  See video below.  This will create a "drop-down list" of Menu Items - which you will be able to "style" using the Menu Styling options.
