ShipStation Integration: How to Connect ShipStation to Your ShinePages Store

Connect ShipStation to your ShinePages store to automatically calculate live shipping rates at checkout and send tracking information to your customers.

BEFORE YOU START - SET YOUR STORE ADDRESS FIRST:

Before enabling the ShipStation integration, you need to set your store's ship-from address inside ShinePages. ShipStation uses this address to calculate accurate shipping rates at checkout - so don't skip this step!

  1. From your builder, click the Store tab in the left-hand navigation

  2. Select Settings

  3. Under Store Details, fill in your Address, City, State/Province, Postal/Zip Code, and Country

Once your address is saved, you're ready to connect ShipStation.


STEP 1: CONNECT SHIPSTATION IN YOUR STORE SETTINGS

  1. In your Store Settings

  2. Click on the the Shipping tab

  3. Click "+ Add Integration"

  4. Find ShipStation in the list and click Connect

A settings panel will appear asking for your ShipStation API Key and API Secret. You'll get those in Step 2 below.


STEP 2: GET YOUR API KEY AND SECRET FROM SHIPSTATION

  1. Log into your ShipStation account
  2. From the top right, click the gearwheel icon to access Settings
  3. Select Account on the left sidebar menu, then select API Setting
4. Under Select API Version dropdown choose V1 API and then press the Generate API Key button on the right.


5. Choose your preferred amount of time for the API key to be active and press Generate


6. You will be presented with your API Key and Secret Key required to setup your ShipStation integration. You can use the file icons on the right to copy respectively the API Key and Secret Key.


7. Make sure you make a copy of both the API Key and Secret Key before continuing, you will be presented with the option to copy them again if you were not able to in previous step. If you do not make a copy of them during this process you will have to repeat the previous steps to receive a new set of of each.


STEP 3: FINALIZE YOUR SHIPSTATION INTEGRATION IN SHINEPAGES

Head back to the ShipStation settings panel in ShinePages Store settings and paste in:


  • Your ShipStation API Key

  • Your ShipStation API Secret

Click Save and verify to complete the connection.


HOW IT WORKS AFTER SETUP

Once connected, ShipStation handles shipping rates and tracking from their side:

  • Shipping rates are calculated by ShipStation at checkout based on your carrier settings, ship-from address, and product/package details

  • Tracking information is sent to your customers directly by ShipStation once orders are fulfilled

  • No shipping rates need to be configured inside ShinePages - the ShipStation connection takes care of this

TROUBLESHOOTING: "No Shipping Options Available" at Checkout
If checkout is showing "No shipping options available" during a test purchase, this is typically a configuration issue on the ShipStation side. Things to check in your ShipStation dashboard:

  • Is at least one carrier connected and active?

  • Is your carrier enabled for live rates?

  • Is your ship-from address filled in accurately in ShipStation?

  • Are your products set up with the details your carrier requires?
