Occasionally we will get a message like this from a concerned user:
"Help! I have been working on my website and saving every step of the way. However, I just restarted my computer and my website is gone! Did I just lose it all? "
We understand this can be alarming, concerning, and frustrating - and we are here to reassure you that 9 times out of 10 - you have NOT lost anything!! You may just have a login issue or you may have inadvertently created another site or another project and are seeing the second site vs. the one you have been working on.
Before you panic - here are a few troubleshooting steps:Â
Troubleshooting First Steps:
1) Double check to make sure you are logging in with the same email address you used to create your account.
2) Instead of using the link you received via email - try logging in again from https://shinepages.com/login (and feel free to click "forgot my password" if you cannot remember your password)Â Â
Check The Websites In Your Project:Â
3) From within the Builder click on the "My Sites & Funnels" button in the upper left corner. (see below)
4) Click either Funnels or Websites (whichever you were builder) and see if there is more than one site or funnel in the list. Click the name of each to view that site/funnel. You may have created multiple websites under your Project/Account. (see below)Â
Can't Get Into The Builder At All?Â
If you cannot even get into your Builder and are instead seeing a screen prompting you to pick a template (similar to the screen below) then follow the instructions below:Â
5) Click on a template - ANY template - and click "View" - then click "Start With This Theme" (you will delete this template later)Â
6) Name the website "Delete" or anything that will indicate this will not be a "real" website on your account.Â
7) You should now be brought into the Builder Screen with that "temporary placeholder" template visible.
Follow Steps 3 & 4 above to navigate to the "My Sites & Funnels" list and check to see if your original website is showing in the list.
Click on the name of your "real" website to get into the Builder mode for that website.
Note - once you have located your correct "real" website - you can delete any temporary websites that you no longer need from your account. Delete these websites by hovering over the name of the errant website - click the three dots to the right and select "Delete" from the pop-out options. (see below)Â
Website Not In Your Project or in the List of Websites?Â
If your original website is not found following the steps above - you may instead have multiple projects/accounts created within the ShinePages system.
While logged into the Builder (even if logged into the "wrong" account), go to the Dashboard link in the upper left-hand corner (under the ShinePages logo).Â
From the top of your Dashboard screen under your Project name in the middle of the screen see if there is the option to "Switch Project" - if you have created multiple Projects/Accounts on the platform, you will see them listed here and you can switch between them.Â
Click the name of your other project from the list to visit that Project - and the corresponding websites and funnels that may be held within it.
To move a website or funnel from ONE project into another project:
-Go to My Sites & Funnels
-Hover over the name of the website you'd like to move
-Click the three dots next to the name
-Choose "Move to Another Project"
-Select the Project you'd like to move it to
Note - when you move websites or funnels into a new project - all images will remain intact on the completed pages - however the image files in the Image Manager will NOT transfer. Â
