WHILE IN THE BUILD STAGE OF YOUR MEMBERSHIP ACCESS COURSE:
We would recommend setting those pages to "Public" vs. "Members Only" while you are still in "building" mode, to make it easier for you to preview and edit your work.

When you are ready to go LIVE with your course, that is when you can set the pages to "Members Only" and select the correct "Member Group" and TEST DRIVE as per below:
TO TEST DRIVE WHEN LIVE:
1) FROM THE MEMBERSHIP ACCESS STAGE, you can add your own email address as a "member" of the Member Group so that you can login - however, please just note that there could be some potential confusion with cookies in the browser between logging in as the admin to your site vs. logging in as a "member" of a group (like a customer). You could use an incognito browser to login and check these pages as a user if you wish to avoid that. Please see this article and watch the tutorial: Adding Members
2) FROM START TO FINISH (as if you were the potential customer). NOTE: make sure you are not a member of the member group that you are testing before you begin.
You will be testing the full "customer flow" starting with your Sales Page: Go from Sales page to Purchase / checkout page to Thank you page and any Access you have provided on the Thank You page. Also check the button in the Email confirmation (system generated) to ensure you have the correct Page to Redirect To Upon Login for your members.
To set the discount code to test the Purchase stage of your flow: See this article: How to create a “Test Purchase" in the store
Notes: On testing the Purchase / Checkout stage of your flow:
1) If you create a 100% discount code for your checkout - this will only apply to One-Off-Payment Product and NOT Subscription Payment Product.
2) To test your Subscription Payment Product (credit card details and payment are needed for the purchase of a subscription) - follow the steps in the article above: How to create a Test Purchase . AND see this article: Discounting Subscription or Recurring-Payment Products
