Double Opt-In helps your users to verify their ownership of the email before they are added as subscribers to your email lists. We recommend turning ON Double-Opt in to help to ensure you have a clean email list full of genuine email subscribers who want to receive your emails.
Maintaining good list hygiene in general will help reduce the bounce rate and make it less likely for your email sending account to be flagged or restricted.
To enable this feature:
1) First click "Select Lists" next to "Connect to Email Marketing" within your Form's Settings window (or your Quiz Settings Window, Your Booking Widget's Settings Window, Your Checkout Page/Checkout Widget Settings window, etc.)
Note: You can get to the "Settings Window" for any of these widgets by clicking on the widget itself - then click the Gear or Cog wheel icon.
2) Select (or first create, then select) the email list you'd like people who complete this form to be added to.
3) Once you have selected your List(s) - you will then see the option to "Enable double opt-in" within the Form's Settings window.
Enabling this will automatically send a generic, system-generated email upon which the user has to click in order to verify and be added as a "Subscriber" in your system. Note - the Subject Line of this system-generated email is: "Please confirm your subscription"
Once they are not only a "Contact" but also a "Subscriber" in your system, then they can begin to receive emails from you including emails in both Automations and Campaigns.
CONFIRMING THEIR SUBSCRIPTION:
Below is an example of the system-generated, no-reply, "confirm your subscription" email that goes when Double-Opt-In is Enabled. Again - the "Subject Line" is "Please confirm your subscription" and it will come from a "no-reply" email address and appear as "From" your Business Name (as set up in Website Settings, General)
Note - this email and all transactional, system-generated emails are not editable at this time.
