How to set up and send regular email "newsletters" to your Subscribers

To send regular weekly/monthly emails as newsletters or email blasts, you have two options:

OUR RECOMMENDATION:

1) Create and Pre-Schedule a series of Email CAMPAIGNS

Campaigns (vs. Automations) are single emails that are sent out at a specific date and time to an Email List or Segment of your choice. You can pre-create as many Campaign emails as you wish and schedule these to be sent out on the dates you determine - ie: choose the date for each upcoming Monday into the future. Choose the 15th of each month, etc. Please see this article: Blast Emails - Create Email Marketing Campaigns

We recommend creating one email first and then saving that email as a "template" under "My Templates". This makes it easy to recreate the same general layout/format of your "newsletter" and simply update the content for each subsequent email. Please see this article: Creating Email Templates

When sending the email to a List or Segment - you will send to all Subscribers who are on that List or Segment- including any new Contacts who may have recently signed up. You can also "exclude" Lists or Segments from your send.

NOTE: Your Subscribers will ONLY get Emails/Campaigns from the time they became a 'Subscriber' of that particular List - and schedule dates in the future - moving forward. They would NOT get any emails that were scheduled and sent for a date that has past. (SO ULTIMATELY ONLY RECEIVING THE EMAILS THAT YOU HAVE SCHEDULED FROM THE DATE THEY SIGNED UP & ONWARDS).

2) Set up an Email Automation Flow/Sequence

Another option is to set up an Automated Email Flow, set with "Delay" steps of a week (or any time segment of your choice) between each email.

Automations (vs. Campaigns) are a series of multiple Emails set up in a sequence - with timed delays between emails - that send out automatically upon someone taking a specific action on your site. (a "Trigger" - Triggers can be "Contact Added to List", "Tag Added to Contact Record" (TAGS RECOMMENDED), etc.) Please see this article: Creating an Automation Flow

The Subscriber will flow thru the sequence automatically until they reach the end or they hit the "Goal" of the Automation (if one has been set)

NOTE: Once your Subscribers have "flowed thru" the steps in the Automation as it stands - they are considered "Complete" with the Automation.

If they have "completed" the Automation, they will NOT GET ANY ADDITIONAL EMAILS YOU ADD to the "end/bottom" of the sequence.

They will ONLY receive these emails within the Automation if you "Add Emails/Steps" to the bottom BEFORE they have completed it.  (In fact the Subscribers would need to be AT LEAST 2 steps "above" the end/bottom of the Automation sequence when you would add any new steps in order for them to flow thru these steps.)

NOTE: If they "enter the Automation late" - meaning after several emails have already been sent - they WILL get all earlier emails in the sequence and they will get them all in a row - 3 hours apart from each other.  This will get them "caught up" within the sequence and from there they will continue with the flow/sequence timing as normal. (SO ULTIMATELY RECEIVING ALL OF THE EMAIL DELAY STEPS YOU HAVE SET UP IN YOUR AUTOMATION)
