Hey ShineStars! A little "best practices" tip for you! 🙂
Create a "Backup Copy" of your website or funnel on your account.
Yes, ShinePages does back up your websites regularly - and if by mistake you deleted your entire website - we can get it back for you. You can also restore your deleted website or standalone funnel by using the "Restore Deleted Website/Funnel" link shown at the bottom of the list of Websites or Funnels under "My Sites & Funnels" (button at top left of Builder screen).
However, we believe it creates PEACE OF MIND when you have your own "backup copy" sitting on your account as an "inactive" website (or funnel) just in case you wanted to recreate a block or page or widget or recreate any of your elements before you started making changes.
Here's a little tutorial on how to create your own "backup copy" for redundancy and peace of mind. 🙂Â
Again, to duplicate a website or a funnel, go to the My Sites & Funnels section of your project to see all the sites and funnels built in your current project. This is the button located at the top left.
On the right side of the funnel or website that you want to clone, you will see a Gear / Cog icon - click this to reveal a mini-menu pop-out.
Then click on the word "Duplicate" to create a copy of the full website or funnel.
Note that the "Name" of the duplicate copy will appear to be the same in your "My Websites & Funnels" list - however the system domain is different (see below). If you are on your ShinePages Trial - your duplicate will show up as active. You can set it to Inactive by clicking the gear icon and clicking "Make Inactive"Â
However, if you are on a paid account - the duplicate copy will automatically show up as an "inactive" website with the red "pause" icon shown as below. This is because paid plans typically come with 1 active website.Â
To change the name of your duplicate - you can click the Gear/Cog icon - then click "Show Settings" - under the General > Website Title area - name your duplicate. ie: "Backup Copy + date"Â
