FAQ: Currency & Payments in ShinePages

Q: Can I collect payment from people in other countries? How?
Yes! You can sell to customers anywhere in the world. ShinePages integrates with a wide range of secure payment gateways, so buyers can pay in their own currency and the payment processor automatically converts it into your store’s chosen currency.

Q: Which payment gateways does ShinePages support?
ShinePages works with Stripe, PayPal, Braintree, 2Checkout, AfterPay, MobilPay, PayU, Paystack, Authorize.net, PayFast, Klarna, Twispay, Mollie, and Barclaycard.

  • With Stripe, you can also enable extra payment options like Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, and more — all directly on your checkout page.

  • This flexibility helps you reach international customers with the payment methods they’re most comfortable using.

Q: Can I set different prices for different currencies in one ShinePages store?
No. Each store can only have one default currency (USD, CAD, GBP, etc.) set in your Store Settings. All products and transactions in that store will use this one currency.

Q: What if I want to charge clients from one country in one currency and everyone else in a different currency? (ie: Canadians in CAD and everyone else in USD). Is that possible?
Not within a single store. However, if you want to offer pricing in both currencies, you can create two separate stores -  form example: one with CAD as the default, and one with USD as the default.

👉 On ShinePages, you can create another store by either:

  • Adding a new Website (each website comes with its own store), or

  • Setting up a Standalone Funnel (which also has its own separate store).

That way, you could have one site/funnel in USD and another in CAD, each with its own checkout buttons.

Q: What happens if I set my store to USD, and a customer pays from another country?
The charge is created in USD. If the customer’s bank account or card is in a different currency (like CAD, EUR, or GBP), the conversion happens automatically during checkout.

  • Stripe payments: The customer’s bank or card issuer handles the conversion into your store’s set currency.

  • PayPal payments: PayPal may handle the conversion themselves, or they may pass it to the customer’s bank depending on the buyer’s settings.

  • Other gateways: Each provider follows the same principle - they process in your chosen store currency, and the customer’s bank/payment provider converts on their end.

Q: Do I, as the store owner, need to do anything about currency conversion?
No. You’ll always receive payment in your store’s chosen currency (e.g., USD). Any currency conversion is handled automatically by the payment processor (Stripe, PayPal, etc.) and the customer’s bank.

Q: Should I add a disclaimer on my sales page about currency?
If your audience is international, it can be helpful to note:

  • “All prices are listed in {this currency}. If you’re outside {this country}, your bank or payment provider will automatically convert this into your local currency at checkout.”
This reassures customers without requiring you to manage multiple currencies.

Q: Will my customers pay extra fees?
They won’t pay anything extra to you. However, their bank, PayPal, or another provider may charge a small currency conversion fee. This is normal and depends on their account, not on ShinePages or your store settings.
