If you have purchased multiple domain names and/or have an "old" domain name that you'd like to redirect to your new site/domain/URL - we recommend that you "Connect" your one primary Domain of choice to your ShinePages site (following directions HERE) - and then simply "forward" or "redirect" any other domains/URLs to your one connected domain.
This "Forwarding" or "Redirecting" will actually take place wherever you purchased your domain (ie: Namecheap, GoDaddy, etc.), NOT on ShinePages.
Simply login to your Domain Registrar for that secondary domain(s).
Click on your secondary domain and then click on "DNS".
Follow their instructions to set up "Forwarding". Please note: it may also be called a "Redirect".
You will "Redirect" or "Forward" the secondary domain to your primary, connected domain.
-The "Source Domain" will be your secondary domain.
-The "Destination URL" should be your primary, connected domain - where you'd like visitors to end up!
EXAMPLES:
-NameCheap example shown below - it's called "Redirect Domain" in NameCheap.
In the example below the "old/secondary domain" (mypersonalbrand.co) is going to redirect to the primary, connected domain (https://shinepages.com)
Please see link below for a Video from Namecheap on how to set up a Redirect: HOW TO SET UP A REDIRECT ON NAMECHEAP
-GoDaddy example shown below - it's called "Forwarding" in GoDaddy)
In the example below the "old/secondary domain" (shinefunnels.com) is going to redirect to the primary, connected domain (https://shinepages.com)

AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT "FORWARDING WITH MASKING":
While you CAN set up a redirect so it will "mask" the domain you are sending to (the destination URL) and instead show the correct website page but with your 'new' domain in the URL bar (the source URL) - there are some drawbacks to this. Not only is it not great for SEO, but also some sites do not allow or display "masked" URLS. Please see the information directly below about "masking" from both Namecheap and GoDaddy:
FROM NAMECHEAP: (See TYPES OF URL REDIRECTS Article)
"URL masking or URL cloaking is similar to URL Redirect except that instead of redirecting the client to your web page, the web page is displayed in a frame from the server. With this method, the visitor's browser will display your domain name (for example, www.mydomain.com) and some other person’s website.
Sounds cool, right, but are there any cons?
- URL Frame is bad for SEO.
The problem with domain masking is that it creates duplicate content in search engines. Google and other search engines will identify your domains and masked ones as duplicates and decide to serve one over the other; and sometimes, it’s not always the one you want. In short, it is not possible to have a search engine presence for two domains showing the same content.
- Not all the websites allow masking.
It is possible to prevent URL masking at the hosting server level, so if your domain is giving Forbidden or other similar errors, then most likely, such measures are enabled at the target server side.
