How to add a FloDesk inline form to your ShinePages website

A step-by-step tutorial on how to embed a Flodesk inline form to a ShinePages website

It is easy to integrate ShinePages and FloDesk to build your email list.

You can either use built-in ShinePages forms - and send contacts and tags to FloDesk using Zapier (get your Zapier invite link here) - or you can add a FloDesk inline form on your ShinePages pages.

In this article - we'll go thru the steps to add a FloDesk inline form to your ShinePages site.

Background: The most common sign-up forms you find on websites are inline forms. They’re the ones that are embedded into website pages, blog posts, sidebars or footers. Unlike popup forms, they appear as a natural, built-in part of the web page and are displayed at all times.

As mentioned before, you can add the ShinePages inline form widget anywhere, on any pages - OR you can use the FloDesk inline form and embed it on your pages using the instructions below:

Step 1. Start by creating and customizing your inline form in FloDesk.

Step 2. At the end of the form customization steps, you’ll get two code snippets. It will look something like the below image. You need to add these codes to your ShinePages website so that the form gets displayed and your subscribers can sign up.

Note: Both the header code and the inline code have to be added to your website. It’s not enough to add only one of them.

How to add the Header code to your ShinePages website:

Step 1. Copy the Flodesk header code.

Step 2. In ShinePages go to Website Settings (gear wheel/cog icon in left hand menu) > Custom Code and paste the Flodesk header code into the "GLOBAL HEADER CODE" - "Custom Head Markup" HTML section. Hit Save.

How to add the Inline code to your ShinePages website

Once the header code is added to your ShinePages website, the next step is to add the Flodesk inline code where you want the form to show on the page.

Step 1. Copy the Flodesk inline code.

Step 2. In ShinePages, add the Code widget ( </>) from the Widget menu (the Plus Sign "+" icon on the left hand navigation is your Widget menu) then paste your code into the html box that appears. Save your site.

In editing mode you will only see the "code" box. However, when you go to "Preview" your site (eye icon at the bottom of your left hand navigation) you will see the inline form appear.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

If you are using a FloDesk inline form - your contacts will go directly to FloDesk but they will NOT also be captured within your ShinePages CRM (the "Contacts" tab on top). In order for your contacts to show up in your ShinePages Contacts tab you would want to use a built-in ShinePages form widget and connect the two via Zapier instead.

In addition, if you would like to send the contact info of your store purchasers, appointment bookers etc. from ShinePages to FloDesk, you would need to use the Zapier connection as well, as these contacts would not be using the inline form.
