Flodesk Integration via Zapier

After Connecting WebConnect to Zapier thru our Zapier Invite

Last Update 3 months ago

While ShinePages does not have direct integration with Flodesk yet, you CAN easily connect this email marketing system with ShinePages via Zapier.

STEP 1: YOU NEED TO ACCESS ZAPIER THROUGH OUR ZAPIER INVITE LINK TO CONNECT TO WEBCONNECT FIRST: See STEP 1 article here:

Access the Zapier Invite

AFTER STEP 1 AS ABOVE:

STEP 2: Once your WebConnect is connected:

  • In your Zap you will be prompted to 2) Action to select:
  • In the new window: type Flodesk in the search bar and then select Flodesk:

Then - follow the instructions to log in to Flodesk and connect your account.

Note: here is documentation direct from Flodesk on connecting with Zapier:

*NOTE: If you have MORE THAN ONE FORM on your site and you'd like to set up different zaps for each form - you will follow the STEPS above

STEP 3: Choose Action Event - pull down from the list to "Create/Update Subscriber" (or choose one of the other Flodesk options in the drop-down").

STEP 4: Set up your Actions.

Start by selecting your Flodesk Segment from the dropdown list.

Next, go to the data fields. On the Email field use the dropdown to select "Contact Email: sample@email.com". Do the same for First Name, choosing "Contact Name: Sample Name" from the list. When finished click "Refresh Fields" and move on.

Note Many forms in ShinePages - including the checkout widget - will be bringing over "Full Name" vs. 2 separate fields for "First Name" and "Last Name". In this case, you can leave the data field for "last name" blank - as the full name will be pulled with that First Name field.

STEP 5: When everything is connected, you will "test your action" and then turn on or run your "Zap" - this will automatically pass information between the two platforms and add new contacts from ShinePages into your Flodesk account.

STEP 6: Test your zap by viewing your live site (with your system domain or your custom domain) and using a "dummy" or test email address to ensure the contact information transfers properly.

HOW TO CHOOSE BETWEEN FORMS (OR OTHER CRITERIA)

If you have multiple forms on your site and you would like to choose WHICH FORM you are pulling from when connecting via Zapier to any other email platform, you will add a "middle Filter step" between your initial Step 1 (Trigger) and your Step 2 (Action).

Before you do anything in Zapier - make sure that your forms are named separately within ShinePages. You can change the name of each form in the Form's Settings (access via the cog/gear wheel icon in the Form's menu that pops up when you single-click anywhere on the form).

You should also add a tag to each form - to separate and organize your contacts appropriately.

Once your forms are named and tags are set up, you will go into Zapier and add a middle "filter" step after Step 1 (Trigger) by clicking the little blue + (plus sign).

In the window that pops up, do not "search apps" - instead choose Filter from the right-hand side:

Next, you'll "Choose App" - choose "Filter By Zapier"

Next, you will set the filter - you can use Form Name, Tag or any of the choices from the dropdown menu. (you may have to click "see more options" to see a full list).

Using the example of filtering by the Form Name - you'll select "Form Name" from the first dropdown list, then choose the "condition" from the second dropdown list.

For this example, we chose "Contains".

Finally - type the name of form exactly as you named it within that form's settings in ShinePages. ("New Form 1" in the example above.)

Refresh Fields and click Continue.

Note: you may get a grey screen that says "Your Zap would NOT have continued". Don't let this alarm you - your Zap WILL work! Just ignore that and hit Close.

Finally - turn your Zap on!

Test your zap by viewing your live site (with your system domain or your custom domain) and using a "dummy" or test email address to ensure the contact information transfers properly.
